Breaking Ground for New Trail at Mountain Heritage High School

On April 29, 2011, Tim Johnson with the NC State Parks provided training and guidance for volunteers on building sustainable trails. He then supervised the volunteers as they broke ground on a new trail that will hopefully be completed by the start of the 2011-12 school year!! The volunteers were from Mountain Heritage High School (students Joel Camper, McKenzie Pauley, Darian Silvers, Alex Shaw and teacher Cindy King), NC High Peaks Trail Association (Jake Blood, Jonathan Hartsell, Alan Orovitz, Sue Mcquire-Raeb, John Whitehouse), Haywood Community College (Andrew Isenhower) and the US Fish and Wildlife Service (Danielle Crocker)! The tools were provided by the US Forest Service here in Burnsville!
