Hike to Crabtree Falls Sat, Feb. 1


Join the High Peaks Trail Association for a mid-winter outing when we hike from the Celo Community to Crabtree Falls on Feb. 1. The hike will end with food and fellowship at the home of Dennis and Nancy Smith.

The seven-mile hike is rated as moderate, with no long or strenuous climbs. Hikers should dress appropriately for the winter weather and check our website,www.nchighpeaks.com, or our Facebook page for last-minute changes in case of bad weather. As always, leashed dogs are welcome.

Hikers should assemble at the Smith’s home at 4 High View Trail at 9 a.m. Here are the directions:
Hwy 80 South turn east at Seven Mile Ridge( SMR). Come across South Toe bridge turn left to stay on SMR go up SMR about 3 miles to the first Yield sign. At this point SMR turns to right. High View Trail turns to left. The Smith's driveway is actually straight ahead between the split rail fence the gravel drive. 4 High View Trail.
You are encouraged to bring food or drinks for the after-hike gathering. We will car-shuttle to the hike starting point at the Celo Inn.
