High Peaks Goes High Over Burnsville Sat March 1


For great views of Burnsville and the surrounding area, join the N.C. High Peaks Trail Association Saturday, March 1 for a hike up Phillips Knob. This six-mile jaunt will include a climb and descent of about 1,500 feet and is rated moderately difficult.
Hikers should assemble on the Town Square at 9 a.m. Bring plenty of water, warm clothes and a lunch for the trail. Leashed dogs are welcome. Hike Update! As we finish our hike we'll stop off at club member Lucy Doll's house, 61 Summit Street, where she'll have bowls of hot chili waiting for us-- choice of vegetarian or with meat. Bring your own favorite beverage.
