High Peaks Trail Maintenance Day on Saturday, May 24

Body:

This Saturday we will tackle perhaps the steepest trail in the Blacks, Woody Ridge, and the northern end of the Crest Trail.  We plan to have one crew work Woody Ridge from the bottom and another the Crest Trail from the Bolen's Creek trailhead.  We will meet somewhere in between.  The objective will be to clear downed tress, limbs, and other debris from the trail as well as lop branches.  This is part of our annual maintenance but also in preparation for a footrace planned over the same trails later in the weekend.  Bring lunch, plenty of water, and trail tools if you have them.  Crew leaders will have extra tools.

You can choose to work with either crew, just let me know your choice by e-mailing trails@nchighpeaks.org.  Meeting times and places:

Woody Ridge trailhead off Whiteoak Creek Rd. at 8:30 AM

Bolen's Creek Crew:

Burnsville town square 8:15 AM

Bolen's Creek (cemetery parking lot opposite and a bit beyond Watershed Rd) 8:30 AM
