High Peaks Leads Stroll At Lake James Nov. 9

Join the NC High Peaks Trail Association on Saturday, Nov. 9 for a pleasant stroll at Lake James near Marion.

The 3.5-mile loop is rated as easy as it will follow a graded trail that offers beautiful lake views. There may also be late fall color at this low elevation.

Strollers should assemble in the Rose’s Shopping Center parking lot overlooking Highway 19 at 9:30 a.m. Transportation will be provided in a Yancey van for a donation of $5 per person, reservations required. Dogs are not allowed on the vans so if you want to bring your leashed pet you must provide your own transportation. The ride to Lake James from Burnsville will take about an hour each way.

Bring lunch, snacks, water, warm clothes and rain gear if the forecast is threatening. Please contact Stroll Leader Carolyn Raichle at 407-619-6136 by Thursday evening, Nov. 7 to make your van reservation.

As always, check the High Peaks Facebook page or website, www.nchighpeaks.org, for last-minute changes due to weather.
