High Peaks Leads Crabtree Falls Hike March 11

Join the NC High Peaks Trail Association for a fun hike to scenic Crabtree Falls on Friday, March 11.

The four-mile jaunt will start on at Victor Fields and includes a 1,000-foot climb that is very steep in places. Trail footing is very rough and rocky in other places, so this hike is not for those in poor condition or who are unsteady on their feet.

Meet at the Buck Creek Gap parking area at the intersection of NC 80 and the Blue Ridge Parkway at 9:30 a.m. All hikers should wear masks for the meet-up at the trailhead, but can take them off once the group spreads out on the trail.

Bring water, snacks, lunch, warm clothes and rain gear if needed, along with hiking poles if you use them. Leashed dogs are allowed on the hike but you must clean up after your pet.

The group will be limited to 10 people. Contact Hike Leader Duke Rose at dukerosejr@gmail.com or 675-5781 to reserve a spot or for more information. As always, check the High Peaks Facebook page or website, www.nchighpeaks.org, for last-minute changes due to weather.

If you are hiking with us for the first time please review the Liability Waiver linked below. You will be required to sign that you have read and understood it.
