Join High Peaks for a fun but challenging hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail from Walker Knob Overlook to Graybeard Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway on Saturday, July 15. The 4-mile hike will offer cool, high-elevation temperatures and great views at several spots, but includes some rough footing and an 800-foot elevation change.

Hikers should assemble at 9:00 a.m. at the Walker Knob Overlook near Mile Marker 360 on the Parkway. Bring lunch, snacks, plenty of water, hiking poles if you use them and rain gear if the forecast looks threatening. Leashed dogs are allowed but please be prepared to clean up after your pet.

The group will car shuttle back to Walker Knob at the end of the hike.

Please contact Hike Leader Jimmie Bowen at 252-450-5224 or jbowen6116@gmail.com if you plan to attend.

As always, check the High Peaks Facebook page or website, www.nchighpeaks.org, for last-minute changes due to weather.
