Sunday Stroll to Spectacular Douglas Falls (May 27)

Join ncHighPeaks for a stimulating Sunday Stroll to Douglas Falls on May 27.  The falls are a short half-mile walk on an easily navigated trail that goes over some roots and muddy/wet areas.  Unlike most local cascading falls, Douglas Falls charges over a rocky ledge and drops straight down, uninterrupted for nearly 100-feet!  With the walk out, the stroll is only one-mile long with less than a 50-foot elevation change.  We’ll meet on the Burnsville Town Square at 1pm.  Transportation will be provided by the Yancey County Transportation Authority for a cost of $5 per participant.  We will return to the Town Square by 5pm.  Visit our website at or call hike leader Jake Blood at 284-6878 for more information.
