Come join High Peaks on Friday, March 21 for a moderate hike at Lamar Alexander State Park near Flag Pond, TN.

We’ll hike about 4 miles out-and-back along Rocky Fork Creek and be treated to beautiful water features. The trail is a gentle uphill slope with multiple bridge crossings, most of which are made out of Hemlock trees. We will pass the historic Flint Creek battle site and many huge rock formations, all while surrounded by an abundance of rhododendron and mountain laurel, making for a beautiful hike!

Bring water, snacks, hiking poles if you use them and clothing fit for the weather forecast. Dogs on leashes are fine!

Please meet at the Roses Shopping Center parking lot at 9:00 a.m. and we will carpool, a 30- to 45-minute drive. If you wish to meet us at the park, directions to Lamar Alexander State Park are on their website.

We should arrive at the trailhead parking lot around 9:45 a.m. and the hike should take about 2.5 hours.

Please text Hike Leader Diane Schramm 904-349-0479 for sign-up or questions. As always, check the High Peaks Facebook page or website, www.nchighpeaks.org, for last-minute changes due to weather.
