Join NC High Peaks for a hike on the Hawksbill Mountain Trail on Friday, November 7. Hikers will be rewarded with incredible 360-degree views of the Linville Gorge, Pisgah National Forest and Table Rock. It is a moderately challenging 2-3 mile hike with approximately 700 feet of elevation gain and some steep rocky sections. It should take approximately two hours to complete.
Hikers will meet at 8:30 in the park and ride lot at the intersection of 19E and Hwy 80 north which is one mile east of the Micaville Loop. From there we will carpool for the one hour drive to the trailhead. The access road to the trailhead is a bit rough so high clearance vehicles may be helpful.
Bring water, snacks and/or lunch, sturdy hiking shoes as well as hiking poles if you use them. Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome, but bring them water and poop bags.
Contact hike leader Diane Schramm at (904) 349-0479 with questions and to let her know you are coming.
