Join High Peaks for our first-ever hike for kids on Saturday, June 13 as we venture on an easy stroll to one of Yancey’s most beautiful waterfalls, Roaring Fork.
Please note that a parent or guardian must accompany each child on this outing. Multiple siblings may join in as long as one parent/guardian is present on the hike.
Meet at the Roaring Fork trailhead parking area (near the Mt. Mitchell Golf Course off NC 80) at 9:00 a.m.
The hike is an easy out-and-back on mostly level ground, with a round-trip distance of about 1.5 miles.
Bring water and snacks and make sure to wear appropriate shoes, as the rocks near the falls can be quite slippery.
As always, check the High Peaks Facebook page or website, www.nchighpeaks.org for last-minute changes due to the weather.
Please text Hike Leader Candie Smith at 817-881-7701 if you plan to join us.
