Isom Mine Hike- Saturday, May 18- Postponed due to rain!

The hike is postponed due to rain. Food and fellowship are still happening at 4 pm at the Wellers!
The historic Isom Mine under Celo Knob will be the destination of a NC High Peaks Trail Association hike set for Saturday, May 18. This is a nine mile loop hike that starts and ends at the Weller Cabin on Cattail Creek Rd. near Pensacola. Hikers can expect a 2000 foot elevation gain over single track trail and old logging roads over the first three miles, followed by a gentle descent along an old railroad grade for the return trip.
Hikers can meet at the Burnsville Town Square at 8:30 for car pooling or at the Weller Cabin, 2170 Cattail Creek Rd., at 8:45. Pack a light lunch and plenty of water. Food and fellowship will be offered at the Weller Cabin after the hike, and hikers are invited to bring a side-dish that goes well with burgers and brats. This is a dog friendly hike.
